I love being able to access the password manager on my iPhone with Face ID and iPad with Touch ID. I also use a MacBook Air when I travel, an iPhone, and an iPad, all of which I use my password manager on with differing levels of security. I'm not worried about a burglar coming in and being able to, say, log into my Instagram account to post nefarious pictures. I have no desire to type a master password in every time I want to be able to log into my usual websites I like being able to wake up my computer and GO. I work on an iMac at home with no roommates. Besides what your staff has written in the post, do you offer any options for this second level of security? Although the staff member who wrote the response apparently had a difficult time understanding the use case, I live it every day, and it's not some pie-in-the-sky nice-to-have. I'd reply to the forum discussion, but it's been closed. My biggest sticking point is perfectly laid out in a forum post here.

If he says something is safe and secure to use, and willingly uses it himself, that's good enough for me.Hi! I've used LastPass for the past decade but am trying out 1Password to see if I could make the switch (since LastPass for Mac has become unbelievably buggy and their developers don't seem to care). I also recommend everyone to check out this website that offers a much more comprehensive review of “LastPass versus 1Password”, and don't forget to read the part on security concerns over cloud syncing of 1Password data with Dropbox. In fact, after reading that article, I took the initiative and deleted my DropBox account and you should too. Kevin, you might want to rethink your preferences on 1password’s dropbox syncing to lastpass’ in the cloud (visit the link below). Hopefully 1Password steals the full-functioning browser idea, i did like that. LastPass was just a little clunkier to work with. I also found 1Password's UI to be a lot easier to use.Īfter a few weeks of trying both I went with 1Password. I far prefer 1password's dropbox syncing to lastpass' in the cloud (on their servers but with local cache) syncing. LastPass' browser did crash on me several times. It can also capture new sites/passwords from this browser, 1password can't do that. On the iphone/ipad lastpass' tabbed browser is more full-featured than the 1 page at a time browser in 1password.

At $12 a year it takes 3 years to catch up to 1Password's fee, plus you have to purchase each 1Password app (iphone, ipad, Windows) seperately. Lastpass is free for most usage, the $12 a year fee is only if you need access to specific functions.

LastPass supports linux, 1password doesn't (directly, I believe you can still access your passwords with a workaround).ġpassword supports more browsers on the Mac (specifically Camino which I really like), Lastpass doesn't have a plug-in for Camino.
